| Kensico Cemetery (1889 - 1899) |
The plan of giving the Cemetery a park-like aspect continues to receive the approval of lot proprietors Visitors to the Cemetery never fail to notice the important improvements which have been introduced in caring for and embellishing the grounds. The improvements are in some details an advancement on the methods of older cemeteries, but many of them are entirely new. These improvements contemplate not only the security and sanctity of the dead but they add to the comfort and convenience of the living. Also, the attendants at the grave are in uniform, black suits and hats, and everything is conducted in the most perfect and orderly manner at all interments. We supply a hearse and one conveyance carrying six persons from the Cemetery depot to grave or tomb without charge.
